He was born in 1980 in Herdecke, Germany. At a very young age Ömer learnt to read the Quran. In the childrens' divine group, founded by his first teacher, Refik Seker, he chanted divines between the years 1987 and 1991.
Furthermore, he began to show keen interest in reciting the Quran according to the rules and started taking lessons from Mustafa Günesdogdu. He came third in the European Quran reciting competition in Switzerland in the year 2000.

Ömer is greatly interested in sufi music and continually strives in improving his knowledge in this direction. He is adept in playing "Def" and "Bendir". The divine group VISAL was founded by Ömer in 2006 where he was the sole vocalist in English, Arabic, German and Turkish. Particularly, his interpretations in Arabic were vigorous.

After his education in 1997, Ömer started his business life as a business administrator in a private enterprise. In 2006, he reverted to school and intends now to visit the School of Theology in Germany.

Ömer is married since 2001 and has a son.
